This allows its use on a variety of new problems, including hyperbolic equations not in conservation form, problems with source terms or capacity functions, and logically rectangular curvilinear grids. This framework requires a modified approach to maintaining consistency and conservation at grid interfaces, which is described in detail. The algorithm is implemented in the amrclaw package, which is freely available.
Keywords: adaptive mesh refinement, hyperbolic conservation laws, high resolution, Godunov, finite-volume methods, gas dynamics, acoustics, softwareJoshua Stultshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03506970399027046387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822805028291837738.post-36667235644873407082010-03-07T11:27:32.263-05:002010-03-07T11:27:32.263-05:00Here's a little summary of some challenges for...Here's a little summary of some challenges for using adaptive meshes for climate modeling.Joshua Stultshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03506970399027046387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822805028291837738.post-54537717017140603382010-03-07T09:17:21.300-05:002010-03-07T09:17:21.300-05:00Dr Mitchell at NIST has a recent paper on a collec...Dr Mitchell at NIST has a recent paper on a collection of test cases for adaptive grid methods in 2D (focused on elliptic problems, but the ideas are portable).Joshua Stultshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03506970399027046387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822805028291837738.post-11829599373375012712009-12-11T15:02:08.495-05:002009-12-11T15:02:08.495-05:00Good, early paper on grid transformationsGood, early paper on grid transformationsJoshua Stultshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03506970399027046387noreply@blogger.com
